Real estate? The question arises frequently with cap rates as low as they are in the restaurant real estate space, and aging owners contemplating their wealth and succession. Illiquid as it may seem, real estate is still the foundation of the wealth that has been accumulated over the years. Given the exuberant market of today, liquidity is much less of an issue as in many ways it is a seller’s market. One strategy is the sale leaseback option.
